ON the bridge

The insane amount of hail still leftover from the storm of all storms end of fair weekend
We were in the metal exhibit buildings looking at the quilts and cross stitches with mom and Joanna's family when it started pouring. Then the wind picked up and stalls started flying away. We noticed they shut down all the rides and we just sat there waiting for the rain to stop. It poured for over an hour. We kept saying we were going to make a break for it but everyone we saw was completely soaked. But, the ground was getting more and more flooded so we finally decided to go and made a run for it. Jordan took the boys before it really started coming down so it was me and the girls.
Joanna helped me with the girls get to our car and then we waited to get out of the parking lot. It was the craziest storm we've ever been in while living in Safford.
We went home and the rain was not as bad but then before bed we could hear hail hitting the bedroom windows. But we didn't think much of it. Sunday Jordan found out from his teacher friends that all the Safford schools had been flooded very badly. We went to the high school and the entire band pit was filled with water. The orchestra room had probably 6 inches of water covering the floor. The roof collapsed in the gym. Jordan's choir room also got flooded. (We lost lots of music and Jordan's diplomas because of this flood) Lafe Nelson Elementary was pretty much all ruined because of the flooding. Tons of houses in Safford had damage from the hail and flooding as well. Almost every roof in Safford had to be replaced from this storm. Many in our own neighborhood in Thatcher had to replaced as well. Roofing companies were working for at least a year. There were only a couple of hail marks on our roof. The pine trees protected the roof.
Usually the kids get off Friday and Monday for Fair weekend but because all the schools were damaged Safford schools had an extra 2 week break. It was crazy! Dad was happy but then he was sick for almost all of it so we weren't able to play as much as we would have liked.
Getting ready for Halloween

We were able to condense our stuff from 2 sheds to one

Yes, it was still warm enough outside to go to the splash pad
Too cold for me!
